The farm
In the heart of Tuscany, in the wonderful Chianti hills, our small farm maintains and continues the Tuscan tradition of vines and olives cultivations. All the cultivations are performed in the traditional way, with a deep knowledge and a deep respect of the peculiar times of nature, plants and seasons.
The use of chemical products is reduced as much as possible, favouring when possible the ancient techniques and remedies. These natural techniques are the mirror of the ancient harmony between Human and natural environment that from time immemorial is the main richness of the Tuscan land and its deepest and more authenthic heart.
Our vineyards
Our vineyards produce Chianti-certified grapes and grapes for white wines and for Vinsanto (sweet white Tuscany wine, dessert wine).
The distribution of cultivations is traditional of the Tuscany family farms, where, together with vineyards and olive trees,
the farm hosts also the cultivations needed for the family food: vegetables (pumpkins, courgettes, cabbages like the Tuscan "black cabbage"
that is one of the main ingredients of "Ribollita", artichokes, tomatoes) and fruits trees (plum, peach and pear trees).

Our olive grove
Besides the olive trees we recently installed, we maintained many ancient plants of native sorts, that often have no name and survived in one-two
individuals only. These ancient sorts are native of our area and once they populated our hills. At present they disappeared almost
everywhere because of their
low productivity and have been replaced by more standard high productivity sorts.
In our driving idea to absolutely privilege the quality of the extra-virgin olive oil even if this is detrimental to the
quantity, we maintained the survived olive trees of the ancient native sorts. These sorts give to
our extra-virgin olive-oil a truly unique taste and an extraordinarily low acidity.
Olive trees sortsLeccino, Correggiolo, Mignolo, Moraiolo, Rossellino |
