The holiday home "Il Romeo in Gambassi" is located in the center of the small town of Gambassi Terme
(Florence), in the heart of Tuscany. It is far from the stress and chaotic life and at the same time it offers all modern comforts
to Guests. The home offers a quality stay in a ancient building, in typical Tuscany rural style.
The house has been built in 1700. The 2008 restoration has maintained and underlined
the original ancient architecture, with exposed oak beams and hand-made bricks.
Even the door frames maintain the original structures.
At the same time the home is
equipped with all our time comforts, and the resulting effect in both its apartments
( "La Terrazza" e
"La Spiga" )
is a charming mixture of new and ancient.
Every apartment has its own private and fully-equipped kitchen and private entrance.
The altitude of Gambassi is 332 metres on the sea level. The town is built on the top and on the slope of a hill, and offers a wonderful view on the surrounding valleys. The climate is cool and windy even in the hottest summer days and nice and temperate in winter.
Different stores (like bank and pharmacy) are nearer than 100 mt. The Gambassi SPA and the park with centuries-old trees and tennis court are less than 50 mt far (2 minutes walk). At the same small distance we can find a spacious free parking. In near countryside are located swimming pools, riding schools, golf clubs, equipped routes for walking and horse trekking (some of these follow the ancient layout of the medieval pilgrimage route "Via Francigena"), wellness centres.
One does not have to forget the wine and food point-of-view: vineyards and olive groves are the key aspect of the Tuscany wonderful landscape from time immemorial, and Gambassi surroundings are rich of cellars and farms where it is possible to taste Tuscan wines, extra-virgin olive oil, truffle, cold cuts, cheeses and other typical products.
